Lyrics from many years ago, the pain endures.
The Song is called
REMNANTS
I'm sitting at a table with whiskey in my hand
the remnants of the bottle quite drunk you understand
Oh I wish I had another to drink down just the same
like liquid anesthesia, so i'll forget her name
But with the one last glass
within my grasp
I toast her
thats causing me such pain
Dont know how long i've been here drowning in my malaise
the remnants of sobriety are long gone from my face
Oh her memories so painful and I know these wounds wont heal
When all you know is heartache, just emptyness to feel
It seems the more i try
to let her die
That I know
more tears will fill my eyes
Were we walking by a river were we strolling hand in hand?
the remnants of my memories they slip into the sands
Of time and dissolution that consume my only joys
all those precious memories, what tricks the mind employs
sometimes the more things change
Plus ca change, plus c'est
le meme chose
The more, it seems they stay the same...

Yes Crazy all my own work, long story.
I was only 22 at the time so the retrospective viewpoint might seem a little odd. We had split up a few years earlier due to my own stupidity, I was still missing her like a limb and felt that was what my future held for me.
I said "the pain endures" because I recently came across her on facebook, guess it was sort of cathartic to post it.
If you are familiar with Roy Harpers music you may have an idea of what it sounds like inside my head, sadly I dont play a musical instrument so there it remains.
Respects and thanks for the appreciation, like I say, it was from the heart. _________________ We must be the change we wish to see in others |
